How To make Buttermilk Drop Doughnuts
Vegetable oil 2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg
Sugar or cinnamon sugar
Heat oil (2 to 3 inches) in Dutch oven to 375F. Mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, nutmeg and baking soda in large bowl. Add oil, buttermilk and egg; beat with fork until smooth. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls (do not make too large or they will not cook through) into hot oil. Fry about 3 minutes or until golden brown on both sides; drain on paper towels. Immediately roll in sugar.
YIELD: about 3 1/2 dozen drop doughnuts

Easy No Yeast Donuts recipe :
- 140g Self Rising Flour ( 1 cup )
- 190g Any Plain Yogurt ( 6.5 ounces + 1/2 tbsp )
SUBSTITUTES:
**Yogurt can be substituted for milk BUT add only 112 grams of Milk ( 1/2 cup )
**Self rising flour can be made TWO ways:
- 140 grams of plain flour + 1 1/2 tsp baking powder ( 1 cup + 1 1/2 tsp baking powder)
- 140 grams of plain flour + 1/2 tsp baking soda ( 1 cup + 1/2 tsp baking soda)
Glaze for Donuts :
- 250 gr Powdered Sugar ( 2 cups)
- 75 gr Butter ( 2/3 Stick )
- 3-4 tbsp Milk depending how thin you like your glaze
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Cocoa Powder or Melted Chocolate

Ingredients for 20 Donuts
Measurements are really important for this recipe. A kitchen scale is very helpful in this case.
All Purpose Flour - 280g
Cake Flour - 180g
Baking Soda - 4g
Baking Powder - 10g
Salt - 5g
Sugar - 200g
Nutmeg - 5g
2 Whole Eggs
Butter, Melted - 30g
Vanilla - 10g
Buttermilk @ room temp - 225g
MUFFIN METHOD
1. Sift all dry ingredients together.
2. Whisk together the wet ingredients.
3. Add wet to the dry and mix until combined.
4. Scoop balls into 325F fryer and use a slotted spoon to turn over.
5. Cook until golden brown. Drain on wire rack and toss in sugar mixture.
6. Serve warm!
