Homemade apple pie
How to make apple pie crust crispy shortcrust pastry and lots of aromatic apple pie filling. Apple Pie crust recipe
Springform Pan Size - 8 inch / 20 cm
Flour - 8.8 oz / 250 g
Sugar - 1/2 cup / 90 g
A pinch of salt
Butter - 5.2 oz / 150 g
APPLE PIE FILLING:
Sliced apples - 2.3 lb / 1 kg
Butter - 3 tbsp / 40 g
Sugar - 3 tbsp / 40 g
Cinnamon - 1 tbsp / 5 g
Lemon zest - 2 tbsp / 30 g
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp / 10 g
Corn Starch - 2 tbsp / 30 g
Pie dough recipe.
1. In a frying pan, melt the butter, add chopped apples, add sugar.
Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. The apples will juice out first.
When the apples soften the juice will evaporate, remove the pan from the heat.
2. Add cinnamon, starch, and lemon zest, mix well. Leave the filling to cool.
3. Cover the bottom of the springform pan with parchment, cut out strips of parchment and apply oil to the sides.
4. Sift flour and mix with sugar, add salt and extract vanilla, mix everything.
Add chopped COLD butter and grind quickly everything to crumb.
5. Place 2/3 of the crumbs in the springform pan, press down bottom and sides 1-1.5 inches (3-4 cm) high.
6. Put the filling on the dough and fold the sides. Sprinkle the top with the rest of the crumbs.
7. Bake in preheated oven to 375 ° F (190 ° C) for 40 minutes.

8. Cool the cake on a wire rack.
9. The cake tastes much better the next day.

Hello lovelies, today I am sharing with you this simple apple crumble recipe or apple crisp as my US friends would call. Apple crumble is a delightful warm and comforting dessert packed full of flavour. Let me show you how to make it in easy steps.
Ingredients
6 apples
½ tsp grated nutmeg or as needed
½ tsp cinnamon or as needed
1 tbsp flour
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp white sugar
Juice of half a lemon
Crumble topping
1 cup all-purpose flour substitute for self-raising flour
125 g butter you can use melted butter or cold softened. I use cold butter
1 cup light brown sugar or as needed
¼ tsp Salt I love to add a pinch to the topping to balance the sweetness
1 tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
Preheat the oven at 180C/375F and prepare the baking dish
Peel, core and chop the apples and transfer into the baking pan. Add flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, mix to combine then add half the juice of half a lemon and stir to combine

In another bowl, combine, oat, flour, brown sugar, cold butter and a pinch of salt, rub with your fingers until you get a breadcrumbs-like consistency. Some chunks are allowed too.

Bake in an oven for 35 to 40 minutes until the topping is crispy, golden and apple filling bubbly.
Remove from the oven, stand for a few minutes and Serve with vanilla ice cream or custard.

This apple crisp has browned butter in the crisp topping, giving it a beautiful nutty aroma that complements the apples perfectly.

Ingredients
6 cups (900 g) apples (such as Gala, MacIntosh or other sweet, eating apple), peeled and sliced
¼ cup (60 mL) maple syrup
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter
1 ¼ cups (115 g) regular rolled oats
1/3 cup (50 g) whole wheat flour
½ cup (100 g) packed light brown sugar
1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon
pinch salt
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C).
2. Place the sliced apples in a 6-cup (1.5L) by volume baking dish (any shape). Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla to coat the apples.
3. Melt the butter in a small saucepot over medium high heat until it browns and takes on a nutty aroma (once the foam subsides, it should be done). Set aside.
4. Stir the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a mixing bowl. Add the browned butter and stir until blended. Spread this evenly over the apples and bake for about 45 minutes, until the apples yield easily when a paring knife is inserted in the centre of the crisp (the crisp should be bubbling at the edges.) Allow the crisp to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
