THE BEST Fig Banana Bread Ever!
THE BEST Fig Banana Bread Ever!
Hey everyone thanks for returning to my channel for another quick and easy recipe! For today I had to make something with figs because my whole backyard is covered with over-ripe smashed figs all over the floor! I decided to incorporate the jam like flesh with bananas to make a traditional banana bread and boy was I surprised how much better the bread tastes with the addition of figs! The secret to this easy recipe is pulling all the wet ingredients out of the fridge the morning that you're going to make it so all the ingredients will blend together effortlessly and bake up to perfection. Enjoy!
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cup flour 1 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup packed dark brown sugar 1/3 cup sour cream 1/2 stick of softened butter 2 eggs 2 ripe bananas 1 cup fresh figs 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions: scoop out the flesh of the figs and mash the bananas so that you have a total of 1 & 1/2 cups. Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine the sugar, sour cream and butter then add in the eggs. Add the flour, salt and soda and once it's combined, fold in the mashed up fruit. Add the mixture to a well greased and floured loaf pan and bake for exactly 1 hour.
