1 tb Light cream
2 1/2 c Flour
2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Nutmeg
1 ts Lemon juice
1/2 ts Vanilla
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and cream. Add flour sifted with baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Then add lemon juice and vanilla, and mix well. Chill dough for at least an hour. Roll out thin on a floured board, cut with cookie cutters, and bake at 350^F for about 8 minutes until golden. Do not let cookies get too brown. Decorate as desired Makes 4-5 dozen Eleanor Homeyer: "These are better than ordinary sugar cookies because of the flavoring. Decorate with colored sugar, raisins, nuts, pieces of candied fruit. It wouldn't feel right to have Christmas come before baking sugar-cookie bells, stars, trees and animals for the family." -----
