QUICK AND EASY SKILLET SPAGHETTI | RICHARD IN THE KITCHEN
Traditional cooking would have you believe you have to cook your pasta in a large pot of boiling water. Tonight, I’ll show you how to cook skillet spaghetti. By cooking spaghetti in a shallow skillet saves on water, time, effort and energy.
Shopping List:
½ lb. spaghetti
1 ½ cups cold water
1 tbs. kosher salt
2 tbs. starchy cooking water for marrying the pasta with your choice of sauce.
Directions:
In at least a 10 inch shallow skillet, add the spaghetti and cover with the cold water. Bring to a boil and salt the water. Cook 1 minute less than package directions for perfect al dente pasta. Remove the two tbs. of stachy water and set aside. Using tongs, remove the spaghetti from the skillet to your sauce along with the reserved starchy cooking water. Toss and serve.
