Recipe: Ultimate Gourmet Chex Mix
Ingredients:
3 cups Corn Chex cereal
3 cups Rice Chex cereal
2 cups Pretzel sticks
1 cup Honey-roasted peanuts
1 cup Almonds (lightly toasted)
1 cup Dried cranberries
1/2 cup Unsalted butter
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Hot sauce (adjust to taste)
2 teaspoons Garlic powder
2 teaspoons Onion powder
1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
1 teaspoon Dried thyme
1 teaspoon Sea salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the Corn Chex cereal, Rice Chex cereal, pretzel sticks, honey-roasted peanuts, almonds, and dried cranberries. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium-low heat. Once melted, stir in the Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the spices are fully incorporated into the butter mixture.
Pour the seasoned butter mixture over the cereal mixture in the large bowl. Toss gently with a wooden spoon or clean hands until the cereal mixture is evenly coated with the butter mixture.
Spread the coated mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
After baking, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the Chex mix cool completely. This will allow it to crisp up and intensify the flavors.
Once the Chex mix has cooled, transfer it to an airtight container or divide it into smaller serving bowls. Enjoy it as a delicious snack or serve it at parties!
Optional: You can customize this recipe by adding other ingredients like mini pretzels, cheese crackers, or your favorite nuts and dried fruits. Feel free to experiment with different seasonings and spices to create your own unique flavor profile!
Note: This recipe can be easily doubled or halved depending on your needs. Store the Chex mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
