Fill up a mixing bowl with plenty of cheese and your favorite toppings, seal the bowl with the pizza dough, and bake everything in the oven for an ingenious new take on pizza. You'll Need:
For the pizza dough (for 6):
- 5 cups flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1¼ cups water, lukewarm
For the spicy meatball pizza pot pie:
- chili peppers, sliced
- jalapeños
- 8 meatballs, cooked
- 2½ cups shredded mozzarella
- 1–2 tbsp pizza sauce
- 1 whisked egg + milk for the egg wash
For the Hawaiian pizza pot pie:
- red onion slices
- ½ cup canned pineapple chunks
- 1 slice of ham
- 2½ cups shredded mozzarella
- 1–2 tbsp pizza sauce
- 1 whisked egg + milk for the egg wash
For the mushroom & pepperoni pizza pot pie:
- black olives, sliced
- 3 oz mushrooms, sliced & sautéed
- 8 slices of pepperoni
- 2½ cups shredded mozzarella
- 1–2 tbsp pizza sauce
- 1 whisked egg + milk for the egg wash
For the caprese pizza pot pie:
- 4 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 6 mozzarella pearls
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella
- 1–2 tbsp pesto
- arugula for the topping
- 1 whisked egg + milk for the egg wash
For the 4 cheese pizza pot pie:
- 1 tbsp grated parmesan
- 1 oz blue cheese, crumbled
- ¾ cup shredded cheddar
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella
- chopped scallions for the topping
- 1 whisked egg + milk for the egg wash
For the hot dog pizza pot pie:
- 2 hot dogs, cooked & sliced
- slices of red onion
- 2½ cups shredded mozzarella
- ketchup
- mustard
- pickles for the topping
- 1 whisked egg + milk for the egg wash

Pizza Pot Pie Recipe – Learn how to make Pizza Pot Pie and how to make homemade pizza sauce! MEASUREMENTS BELOW!
Pizza pot pie is one of the recipes I reach for when I'm in a hurry. It's quick, absolutely delicious, and looks fantastic. I don't take the credit for coming up with this concept of the pizza pot pie. But who ever came up with the idea is a pizza genius!! However the pizza sauce recipe and pizza dough recipe are all my own! You can put any toppings you want in this pizza pot pie. You can even add a layer of pizza dough to the bottom of the ramekin before adding the rest in. Double the pizza crust! Cooking is all about experimenting and finding out what YOU love, and having fun in the process!

| Ingredients | Makes 2 Pizza Pies
2 16 Ounce Ramekins
Sauce:
1 Tablespoon Butter
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
½ Cup Onion, Finely Chopped
2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
1 8 Ounce Can Tomato Sauce
1 6 Ounce Can Tomato Paste
1 ½ Teaspoons Dried Oregano
½ Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
2 Small Fresh Basil Leaves
Salt and Pepper to Taste
| Toppings |
(You are in charge boss! Pick your own toppings and use as much as you’d like!)
Here’s what I used:
4 Slices Mozzarella Cheese
2 Slices Provolone Cheese
6 Slices Deli Pepperoni
¼ Cup Green Pepper, Chopped
¼ Cup Red Pepper, Chopped
1 Slice of Onion
4 Baby Bella Mushrooms, Quartered
Pizza Dough (Use half of the dough for 2 pies.) See my homemade pizza dough recipe here:
1 Egg (Egg wash optional)
| Instructions |
Sauce:
In a large skillet melt the butter with the oil. Add the onions and garlic and sauté until onions are translucent.
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, dry herbs, salt, pepper, and basil leaves.
Stir and simmer for 20 minutes or longer depending on your taste.
Set aside.
Assembly:
Place slices of mozzarella cheese in the bottom of the ramekins.
Don’t worry about covering every inch. The cheese will melt and spread out.
Add a slice of provolone cheese on top of the mozzarella.
Place the pepperoni slices on top in an even layer.
Add onion, mushroom, green pepper, and red pepper.
Add another slice of mozzarella.
Spoon the sauce over the layers. About 3-4 Tablespoons per ramekin.
Shape and stretch pizza dough for each individual pie. Lay the dough over the ramekin and press any excess dough onto the sides of the ramekin.
Brush with egg wash.
Bake in a 450 degree oven for 15 – 30 minutes or until brown. The cook time depends how thick or thin you made your dough. Just keep an eye on it.
