How to make Homemade Raspberry Liqueur
With the raspberries in season it is time to make some Homemade Raspberry Liqueur. Whether you call it liqueur, liquor, cordial or moonshine, this stuff is delicious and can be made with almost any kind of fruit. Currently I have raspberry, cherry, and rhubarb on the go.
Whatever fruit you use, it takes three simple ingredients:
2 cups of fruit
3/4 cup of sugar
1 bottle of vodka
plus a mason jar.
All you need to do is put the washed fruit in the jar, pour sugar on top and vodka on top of that. Then shake it well, and shake it every day for three months. Strain through some cheesecloth, and you have a great after dinner liqueur or cocktail base.
The raspberry liqueur is used in one of our Hockey-themed Pink Whitney cocktails that you can find at
Rhubarb liqueur is used in our original cocktail, the Hippy Love God. You can find that recipe at

Welcome to Moat Cottage Homesteading,
I'm Elissa and on this channel you will see my homesteading life.
I show you how to be more self sustainable & homestead in a small space.
You'll see how to grow organic food, use and preserve the harvest, raise backyard poultry, both Muscovy ducks and Chickens as well as breeding Mealworms and Crickets.
You will learn how to make natural remedies, get more prepared for emergency situations, how to organise the homestead, money saving ideas and how to live with less waste.
Here at Moat Cottage, we raise and grow and process some of our own free range meat, organic vegetables and fruit.
We grow all of our herbs for both eating and medicinal purposes as well as hunt, fish and forage.
We preserve our produce for the year ahead by canning, dehydrating and freezing and we work on being prepared for emergency situations.
We live using less waste, we recycle and upcycle and love finding what is needed for a project at the scrap yard, op shop or a garage sale, but only buy what is really needed.
We don't like plastic, chemicals and artificial fragrances and are trying to live an older style life balanced with this modern world lifestyle.
Good health and natural living has always been a high priority for our family and despite this two family members are living with auto immune diseases, myself included.
We focus on what we can do, when we can do it, stay positive and so I make these videos for you on my best days.
Much Love

Homemade Homestead Raspberry Liqueur, Just in time for the upcoming Holidays.
Sometimes it's nice to just have a drink, especially during special occasions and holidays. So take a few minutes and see just how easy this homemade homestead Raspberry Liqueur is to make. And the best part is you make it to your own tastes.
You will need:
8 cups of Raspberries, (or other berries)
1 qt alcohol, unflavored, minimum 100 proof (Everclear, Vodka, Tequila)
4 cups organic sugar (beet sugar works the best and won't cloud)
4 cups water
Next:
Take 1/2 of the berries and smash up, then strain through cheesecloth or fine strainer into 2 qt glass jar. Next smash up the remaining 1/2 of the berries and pour them into the strained berry juice. Next add 1 qt of the alcohol of your choosing, closing the lid when done. Now give a good shake. Set this jar in a cool place and give a shake once a day for at least 3 weeks. After a few days, taste every other day to see if the flavor is strong enough for you. Once you get the flavor you desire, strain the berries from the alcohol using a fine strainer or cheesecloth. Next mix 4 cups sugar, and 4 cups warm water together to make a simple syrup. Pour this into the jar of infused alcohol. This mix will cut the percentage of alcohol by 1/2 and sweeten your liqueur. Give a shake and taste. If more sugar is needed mix at a 1 to 1 ratio with warm water. However, this will further cut the alcohol percentage down. Once you get the sweetness you desire, place the liqueur in a cool place until ready to sip. The longer it sits the better it gets.
How to Make Easy Organic Homemade Raspberry Liqueur
Hi ya Gorgeous!
Have you ever wanted to make your own organic liqueur but didn't know where to start? This easy organic process is simple and makes a great Christmas gift!
Here is the recipe I used:
4 cups fresh or frozen raspberries - I really recommend using the organic
1 cup organic cane sugar - and a wee pinch more for good measure
1 (750-milliliter) bottle 80-proof vodka - I used the cheapest stuff Walmart sold - though, I can see value in using something of better quality.
Mix all ingredients together. Shake. Label the start date. Store in cool, dark place. Every other day or so - shake again. 2 months from now - it's ready to strain and enjoy! Gift or sip!
I processed mine in a large dark glass Ball storage jar. It's possible it's up for grabs and debate what type of bottle to use. I think glass is better than plastic.
Amazon supply list:

Cane Sugar
Ball jar
Vodka - shop local!
I stored mine in a cool, dark, pantry shelf. Refrigerating is a possibility as I know a friend's channel did so.
