6 tb Butter or margarine 1 1/2 c Plain flour 1 sm Egg 1/3 c Brown sugar 1 pn Ground cloves 1 pn Cardamom 1 ts Cinnamon Rub the butter into the flour. Cream the egg with the sugar and add to the flour and butter mixture. Add the spices and mix together gently. cut into shapes and put on to a greased baking tray. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and store in an airight container. The biscuits cookies will keep for several weeks. Pat Dwigans -----

Spekulatius (German Christmas Cookies) - Vlogmas Day 15
This is a slightly different recipe from the store-bought once but less sweet and very delicious!
You need: 150g butter 125g brown sugar 1 egg 3 teaspoons Spekulatius spice (or 1 teaspoon cinnamon, pinch of ground cloves, pinch of cardamom) some lemon peel or lemon juice 60g ground almonds 300g flour 1 teaspoon baking soda
Bake with 180° Celsius for 8-12 minutes.

Pfeffernüsse - German Spice Christmas Cookies | Food Wishes
The name translates to “pepper nut,” which sounds odd when you consider the original recipe didn’t call for pepper or nuts, but that aside, these are ridiculously good, surprisingly easy, and I think they are the best Christmas cookie ever. Enjoy!

As you might have noticed I am a sucker for cookies and that’s why we got some poppy seed cookies coming up!

Ingredients 200 gr butter | 7/8 cup 70 gr powdered sugar | 1/2 cup 100 gr poppy seeds | 7/8 cup 50 gr nuts of your choice | 1/2 cup 1 egg a dash of cinnamon 250 gr flour | 2 cup
How to make it 1. Put all the ingredients into a bowl and knead it thoroughly until you have a smooth non-sticking dough. Toss that into the fridge to rest a bit. 2. Take a small piece, roll into a thick snake and put it onto the baking tray forming a horn. 3. Bake at 170 C / 340 F for about 15 minutes. 4. Cool off and enjoy!
