How To make Irish Bread with Sour Cream
2 1/2 c Sifted all-purpose flour
2 ts Baking powder
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/4 c Shortening
1/2 c Sugar
1 Egg; beaten
1 1/2 c Sour cream
1 c Raisins
1/2 c Currants
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda into a bowl. Set aside. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and sour cream. Mix well. Stir into flour mixture. Mix until well blended. Fold in raisins and currants. Spoon into a greased 2-quart casserole. Bake for 50 minutes. Cover with aluminum foil and baked 10 minutes longer or until done. Makes one round 8-inch loaf.JM. From Maxie <maxie@usa1.com> -----

Traditional Irish Soda Bread is a dense and moist bread that requires no rising time and just four simple ingredients to make.

✅Ingredients
• 3½ cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
• 1½ cup buttermilk
✅Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
2️⃣ 00:00:20 - In large bowl whisk together your flour, baking soda and salt. Add in your buttermilk and stir until it just comes together.
3️⃣ 00:00:54 - Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead until it forms a smooth ball. Dust the outside with flour and place on an un-greased baking sheet. Use a sharp knife to slash a 1 inch deep cross on top of the loaf.
4️⃣ 00:01:19 - Bake in oven for 35 minutes or until golden brown.

Unleavened Sour Cream Crescent Rolls
These richly delicious crescent rolls will go great with any meal during Unleavened Bread. For more unleavened recipes visit ucg.org/recipes.
2 cups flour
¼ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup butter
1 egg yolk
¾ cup sour cream (or plain greek yogurt)
Mix all ingredients into a bowl. Press the dough flat. Cut into triangles. Roll each triangle into a crescent. Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes or until brown.
