3 lb Frying chicken pieces
1/2 c Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce
1 tb Dry sherry
2 ts Minced fresh ginger root
1/2 ts Fennel seed, crushed
1/2 ts Grated orange peel
1/2 ts Honey
Rinse chicken pieces and pat dry with paper towels; place in large plastic bag. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over chicken. Press air out of bag; close top securely. Refrigerate 8 hours, or overnight, turning bag occasionally. Reserving marinade, remove chicken and place on grill 5 to 7 inches from hot coals. Cook 30 to 40 minutes, or until chicken is
tender; turn over and baste with reserved marinade occasionally. (Or, broil 5 to 7 inches from heat source about 40 minutes; turn over and baste occasionally.) WHAT THEY CALL BEIJING BEEF IN BEIJING? #SHORTS
Beijing Beef - Better than takeout
Crispy beef that is tossed in sweet and tangy sauce. Perfect if you want to save some money from take out dishes.
Ingredients:
Marinate the beef
* 350g of beef
* 1 tsp of chicken powder
* 1 tsp of Yum Yum
* 1/2 tsp of salt
* 1/2 tsp of sugar
* 1/2 tsp baking powder
* 1/2 tsp of five spice powder
* A pinch of white pepper
* 1 tbs Cooking Oil
Sweet and sour sauce
* 1 tbsp of Tomato sauce
* 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
* 1 tbsp of rice wine vinegar
* 2 tbsp of sugar
* 2 tbsp of water
* A pinch of red powder
* A pinch of salt
Beijing Sauce
* 1 bell pepper, dice into small squares
* 1 brown onion, dice into small cubes
* 2 tbsp of vegetable oil, for stir frying
* 1 tbsp of pineapple juice
* 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce
* 2 tbs Sweet & Sour sauce
* Lil bit of Yum Yum
Instructions:
1. Sliced your steak into strips and marinate with everything above. Set aside for 20 minutes.
2. Combine the sweet and sour sauce in a bowl. Set aside.
3. Coat the marinated beef in the corn starch. Make sure each beef slices are completely coated.
4. Heat the oil to 180-190 degrees c. Fry the beef for 3-5 minutes or until the beef is crispy. Remove, strain it and set aside.
5. In the same wok/pan, heat the oil to medium heat.
6. Next, add the sweet and sour sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet chilli and pineapple juice. Give it a good mix.
7. Add the bell pepper and brown onion. Cook until sauce is bubbling.
8. Add the fried beef to the sauce and give it a final toss until it is evenly coated.
9. Garnish with sesame seeds and follow @cookingwithgenio
