Nuts and Bolts Recipe - The Aussie Bush Cook style. Nuts and Bolts is a recipe made from Nutri Grain and Mixed nuts and a few (or lots) of spices. It is a great snack food recipe that we love to make for our camping trips. So technically this wasn't bush cooking but it was cooking for a bush camping trip. Give it a go, it is easy to cook, a few simple ingredients and you can easily mix and match the spices to suit your particular tastes.

✅Ingredients
• 3 cups Corn Chex
• 3 cups Rice Chex
• 3 cups Wheat Chex
• 1 cup mixed nuts
• 1 cup cheese crackers
• 1 cup melted butter
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 2 teaspoons Mexican hot sauce
• 2 teaspoons garlic powder
• 2 teaspoons onion powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• ½ teaspoon sugar
✅Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
2️⃣ In a large bowl, mix together the chex cereals, nuts, pretzels, and cheddar crackers.
3️⃣ Melt the butter on the stovetop or in the microwave, and add in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, paprika, and sugar. Stir until all is well combined and all granulation has dissolved.
4️⃣ Pour mixture over the cereal and carefully toss it to make sure all is evenly coated.
5️⃣ Spread out onto a baking sheet evenly or use a roasting pan and bake the mix for 1 hour. Be sure to stir it every 15 minutes.
6️⃣ Store in an airtight container and enjoy!

How to Make Sweet n' Spicy Nuts n' Bolts
It's snack time! Whether you call them nuts n' bolts, Chex mix, snack mix, a little slice of heaven...whatever...they are delicious! In this video, I make a sweet and spicy version that is easy to make and is sure to please everyone. Enjoy!
The recipe:
Preheat oven to 250F.
In sauce pan, melt 1 1/3 cups unsalted butter
Add:
heaping 1/4 cup liquid honey
1/4 cup hot sauce (I like Sriracha for this)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon garlic salt/powder
1 teaspoon onion salt/powder
Pour sauce mixture over:
4 cups Cheerios
4 cups Life cereal
4 cups Honey Nut Chex
4 cups Shreddies
1 box Cheese Bits
5 cups BBQ Hoops
5 cups pretzel sticks
Mix well in roasting pan, then bake 30 minutes.
Toss snack mix again, then return to oven for another 30 minutes.
Repeat mixing process at 30 minute intervals, until this has baked between 2 - 2.5 hours, based on preference of roastiness.
Ideally, let cool, then enjoy!

RECIPE:

Remove from oven and add the following. 2 tsp garlic salt, 2 tsp onion salt or onion powder, 2 tsp celery salt, 2 tsp paprika and 4 tbsp worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine. Then add: 4 cups shreddies, 4 cups cherrios, 4 cups pretzels, 4 cups mixed nuts, 2 cups bugels (or cheese fish). Stir to combine. Put in oven for 1 hr stirring every 15 minutes. Enjoy.
