Thai Dry Noodle Soup w/ Wontons & BBQ Pork Recipe บะหมี่แห้ง - Hot Thai Kitchen!
Noodle soups are all over the streets of Thailand, but did you know that for most of those noodle soups, you can order the dry version where the noodles don't come with a broth? Instead of the broth, the steaming noodles get tossed in a flavourful seasoning sauce, but they are still topped with the same yummy toppings of your favourite noodle soup.
In this video, I'm showing you a recipe for Bamee Hang which is one of the most popular types that people order dry. And now that there's no broth to worry about, it is SO much faster to put together as you'll see! In this video I used Chinese BBQ pork and wontons as my protein which is very common, but you can just do one or the other as well!
If you want to make your own BBQ pork, check out my Banh Mi video where I share a delicious recipe for a simple grilled lemongrass pork that works fantastically in this dish!

Kainan Na! feat. Thai Wonton Noodles (Ba Mee)
Wonton noodles are common all over Asia. In fact, possibly every Asian country has its own version of this comforting dish. Thailand has a unique rendition. Locally known as “ba mee”, it is rather on the saucy than on the soupy side. You wouldn’t mind the apparent lack of soup though because the sauce is incredibly flavorful due to the incorporation of pork lard and oil.
A traditional bowl of ba mee uses egg noodles, has a couple pieces of wonton, and several slices of pork. Plenty of variations have sprouted, but one that is a favorite in Bangkok is topped with a soft-boiled egg to add a creamy richness to the noodles.

The recommendation of this shop is bamee which the shop has been making for over 50 years and fried rice without a sticky texture.
These dishes are very delicious.

Thank you Wisarut for this restaurant recommendation!
Ko Boo Rossing Noodle (ร้านโกบู้รสซิ่ง), is located in the Bang Kapi area of Bangkok, Khlong Chan (คลองจั่น) to be more exact. For Thai noodles lovers, it’s a famous little street food stall. They make mostly tom yum noodles, and you can choose your choice of egg noodles or rice noodles, and get them either with soup in the noodles, or get your noodles dry - depending on your tom yum noodle preference.
My wife ordered, sen lek tom yum pisayt kai 2 fawng (เส้นเล็กน้ำต้มยำพิเศษไข่2ฟอง), which is tom yum noodles with medium sized rice noodles, soup, extra special size, and 2 soft boiled eggs.
I ordered, bamee haeng tom yum pisayt kai 2 fawng (บะหมี่แห้งต้มยำพิเศษไข่2ฟอง), egg noodles, dry version with soup on the side, special bowl with 2 soft boiled eggs.
The noodles were seasoned well, but undoubtedly the highlight were the soft boiled eggs. That’s what this Bangkok street food noodle stall is all about.
Finally, we also got an order of moo satay (หมูสะเต๊ะ). The satay was alright, not spectacular, but worth trying when you eat here - something to go along with your bowl of Thai tom yum noodles.
For desserts, we walked down the market and bought some khanom buang (ขนมเบื้อง).
